While she finds it fulfilling to have built her and her family’s dream home, Kathryn Bernardo admitted that she is still trying to get used to living in a very huge house.

The actress spoke about this after she was asked how she feels waking up every day in her dream house, in an interview with TV host Bianca Gonzalez for her TFC show “BRGY.” Bernardo was with her “Hello, Love, Again” co-star Alden Richards in the interview.

“It’s very fulfilling [because] more than my dream house, that house is really for my family, for my mama and papa,” Bernardo said. “Not that they asked me to build a house for them, but it was like a promise to myself [that] someday I want to give them their dream house.”

“Ngayon don kami naka-stay. Every time I go home tapos gigising ka do’n, weird pa rin in a way kasi ‘di kami sanay na sobrang gano’n kalaki,” she continued, chuckling.

Nonetheless, Bernardo said she’s happy that her parents are happy with their home. She further noted that she envisions their house to be their family’s “main house” where they would gather every once in a while.

“It took a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, literally, to build that house. It didn’t happen overnight,” she stressed. “When it happened, iba siguro ‘yung happiness ko because alam ko kung paano ko siya pinaghirapan (I felt ecstatic because I know how I worked hard for it).”

“More than the grandness of the house, we want it to feel like home,” she added.

Bernardo started the construction of their house in 2020. She and her family moved into their new home at the latter part of 2023, then had a housewarming event last April.

Meanwhile, Bernardo and Richards’ “Hello, Love, Again” has achieved a huge success in the box office, reaching the P500-million mark five days after it premiered on Nov. 13.

The Cathy Garcia-Sampana-helmed film also landed in the Top 10 of the North American box office last Nov. 18, earning the 8th spot with $2.32 million.
